Restarting My Health Journey AGAIN & How you can Restart Yours Too!

I’ve been dealing with my fluctuating weight since I was a teenager. Growing up I was a cheerleader, so I was somewhat active but I was never the smallest girl on the team. I never really felt a way about my weight or myself, until my family started to point out my weight, and how I should begin to manage it, and until I began getting teased in the fifth grade for having the audacity to wear colorful jogging suits (even though that fashion choice wasn’t my own) to school. Once that happened I began obsessing over my weight, going as far as taking diet pills and practically starving myself by only eating lettuce with lemon juice and fish, and working out two to three times a day. When I finally did drop the weight and get smaller I was off to college gaining the fresh fifteen plus some. By the time I started to fully drop my freshman fifteen plus some, I found out I was pregnant.

So here I am, starting over, only this time, I’m doing it the right way. I’m not starving myself, I’m just eating to live and not living to eat. I love food, but self control is necessary for me to live the healthiest and happiest life I can possibly live. Initially I didn’t want to diet I just wanted to change my lifestyle, but then I realized almost any diet can be incorporated into a way of life. So after much contemplation I decided to start Keto.

I started The Ketogenic Diet officially on March 21st, 2019. For those of you who don’t the keto diet is a high healthy fat, moderate protein, super low carb diet that is used to put your body into a state of ketosis where instead of burning carbs for fuel your body burns fat. Being keto is probably the best life choice I could have made. Before going keto every time I would eat something, no matter what it was I would get bloated. I felt sluggish, and I was generally unhappy with myself, the way I looked, and the way I felt. Since starting keto I don’t have the cravings I use to have, I’m not bloated when I eat, and I’m dropping weight like crazy even though most of it so far may just be water weight. I’m also extremely sated (full) throughout my day to the point where I have to make myself eat because my body never really feels hungry.

I’d heard about keto a ton of times before I actually started, and I was hesitant to start because I thought it was difficult. Since starting I’ve learned it’s not at all difficult, and I’m so happy I started. I’m really excited to share my journey to a healthier and happier me with you!
