We are officially in week 3 of the three-part Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight, blog series. Over the last two, blog posts found here and here, I’ve been discussing bestselling author, Joel Marion’s, newest book in which he is debunking the myths underlying traditional dieting and offering a simple, highly effective weight loss program that allows you to eat after 7 pm and still exceed your weight loss goals. Because the most challenging times to curb hunger are just before bed and in the morning. By following the Always Eat After 7 PM program, you have the most willpower to stay on the diet because you are eating during the hours when you are most hungry. This also puts you into both intermittent fasting increasing testosterone and your metabolism, while putting you into ketosis. In this blog post, I’ll be discussing my thoughts on the program/book thus far so let’s get right into it.

I am an up all night type of girl, a habit I am actually trying to change because as I age I realize using my entire day properly is so much better than being up all night and sleeping all-day (but that’s another conversation for a different time (LOL). Not only do I tend to stay up all night but, I also have the nasty habit of being a chronic late-night snacker, and I tend to not eat properly during the day because I’m usually busy with my two-year-old Josiah, which is what makes the Always Eat After 7 PM program so appealing. You honestly can’t beat being able to eat late at night and still lose weight. 

The first 14 days of the program, referred to in the book as the Acceleration Phase, focuses on kick-starting the program and producing rapid results because we tend to be more motivated with immediate results. I can honestly say that the first 14 days was the toughest for me simply because I had some unhealthy eating habits that needed to be kicked. The Acceleration Phase didn’t give me the rapid results I was looking for, but I don’t blame the program for that (for that I blame Mirena). I feel like if I extend my Acceleration phase out a week or two then I’d see the results a little clearer. I can however say that while in and after the Acceleration Phase I felt less bloated, had less water weight, and more energy. One of my favorite parts of the program is the three minute fat burning morning ritual, which is something I use to do regularly and was incentivized to start back when starting the program. According to Marion, “One of the simplest 3-Minute Fat-Burning Morning Rituals, lemon water is a glass of water mixed with the juice of one half of a lemon. This drink provides all the benefits of regular drinking water, which supports weight loss, digestive health, physical performance, and cognitive function.”. My ritual is a tad different, I like to drink hot tea with apple cider vinegar, and lemon which is fine! Marion suggests green tea, or ACV and cinnamon, or lemon water so I’m assuming I can combine three of those elements and still get the results of the 3 minute fat burning ritual (LOL). 

What I like most about the Always Eat After 7 PM book is that Marion packs it with much-needed information. There is no need to google anything. He breaks down how to count macros, he charts simple easy to follow meal plans and provides recipes. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been confused by a program because I’m not the best at calculating macros. I also like that the program incorporates intermittent fasting because it’s something that I use to do and that I enjoyed but haven’t been as motivated to start back. 

So far my thoughts on the program are that it’s a good program if you are seeking real lasting results without all the restrictions other programs offer.
