In the words of Pastor Drake, my old Pastor from Jubilee Community Church in Desoto,Tx "Falling in love, with Jesus is the best thing I've ever done". Pastor Drake would sing Kirk Whalum's ode to his love for God almost every Sunday, I didn't understand it then but I do now.
I've been working hard on my relationship with God over the last year after sliding into one of the most emotionally and spiritually damaging backslidden states lasting three and a half years. I made pour decision after pour decision, and it wasn't until I became pregnant with my son Josiah and began dealing with health issues during the pregnancy that I finally ran back into the arms of my Lord and Savior. You know how Erica Campbell says in her song "I luh God, You don't luh God, What's wrong with you?", that's honestly how I feel. I could be dead y'all. I've put myself into some of the most foolish and unthinkable positions because of sin and honestly, it was God's hand that kept me. It was God's hand that covered me and didn't allow my foolish decisions to cost me my life. For that, I am forever grateful, I am forever chasing after him because I understand that in order to live this life, I need him.
I fell in love with Jesus, and it's the best thing I've ever done.
