My husband and I were talking, and we both agreed that if it weren’t for street tacos we could actually possibly go vegan. Being from Dallas where steert tacos are a culture my expectations are definitely high when it comes to street tacos. I’m either going to love them or hate them, there is rarely an in between.
Tacos El Gordo
Tacos El Gordo is absolutely delicious! Everything is cooked fresh to order from the meat to the handmade tortillas. I got three carne asada tacos on flour with everything except guacamole (I ended up giving one to Lou) and we got a small order of carne asada fries. They were so good! I just wish the meat and cheese was throughout the fries instead of just on top. What I love about the tacos is the you don’t have to beg for extra meat, because they give you plenty. They also give you plenty of salsa at no additional charge!
Tacos El Gordo only offers beef and pork and their prices are reasonable, although I am use to paying a dollar and some change for one taco I didn’t mind paying more because the quality of the food was that good. Tacos El Gordo is not a 24 hour taco spot but they are open very late, usually until 4 a.m so you can get your taco fix in the wee hours of the night. Ordering is also made a bit easier by having customers line up according to what meat you want on your tacos, quesadillas, etc.
Is Tacos El Gordo the best street taco spot in Vegas? As of right now yes!
I can’t wait to try some more spots, as for now the bar is set very high!
